Irvin Shelton

Mr. Irvin Wilson Shelton, age 83 of Bumpus Mills, TN passed away June 28, 2022 with his loving family by his side. He was born January 20, 1939 the beloved son of the late Irvin and Mary Shelton. Wilson was a hard worker and provider for his family retiring from Civil Service at Fort Campbell, KY. After retirement, he worked as a door greeter at Sam’s Club in Clarksville, TN. Wilson proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a former Mason. Wilson was honored to serve as a Stewart County Commissioner for the Bumpus Mills district for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his favorite son-in-law, Bill Steele and beloved dog, Bingo.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy “Suzie” Shelton; daughter, Tina Shelton Steele of Big Rock, TN; sons, Brent Shelton (Carolyn) of Dover, TN; Bart Shelton (Sylvia) of Bumpus Mills, TN; brother, David Leon Shelton of AL; sister, Linda Dean (Colvin) of Wylie, TX; grandsons, Russell Shelton, Brian Shelton, Steven Rinehart and great granddaughter, Hannah Shelton.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 12:00 pm until the hour of the funeral service a 3:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jonathan Hardison and Bro. Josh Colson officiating. Burial will follow at the Shelton Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
