Hershel Borens

Mr. Hershel Boyd Borens, age 95, of Cleveland, TN, formerly of Tennessee Ridge, TN, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, at his residence. He was born on June 15th, 1930, in Linton, Kentucky, the beloved son of the late George Boren and Lora Futrell Boren. Hershel was raised by his grandparents, Charlie and Betty Futrell in Model, TN.

Mr. Borens retired from the IHB Railroad, East Chicago, IN after 37 yrs, and faithfully served his country in the United States Army. During his 25 years living in Tennessee Ridge, he enjoyed many fishing and hunting trips with his nephew Bobby Borens.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Evelyn Neeble Borens; his children, Danny (Pamela) Borens, Dennis (Patricia) Borens, Reva White, and Lita Borens. Mr. Borens is preceded in death by his siblings Almo Boren, Grady Borens, Leon Borens, and Baby sister Dorthey Borens. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Casey White, Adam Marti, Jacob Borens, Dennis P. Borens, Matthew Borens and two great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.

Mr. Borens attended Lakeview Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and enjoyed the fellowship of the precious congregation.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Anglin Funeral Home, with his son, Dennis Borens and Brother Ben Clark officiating. Burial will take place at Nunn Cemetery in the Land Between the Lakes.

Pallbearers include Danny Borens, Casey White, Robert Neeble, and Bobby Borens.
