Henry `Tootie` Mathis, 67, Big Rock, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at VA Hospital, Nashville, TN. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Anglin Funeral Home with Bro. David Whitehead, Bro, Morris Lee, and Bro. Melvin Dunaway officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm Tuesday at Anglin Funeral Home at Anglin Funeral Home.
Anglin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born February 23, 1943 in Stewart Co. son of the late Virgil and Virdie Kennedy Mathis. Mr. Mathis was an US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, retired from TVA, was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, VFW, and the American Legion in Stewart County. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Shelba Jean Mathis. He is survived by his sister Diane Mathis, Big Rock, and brother, Robert 'Stig' Mathis, Big Rock.
