Henry Dee Blane, age 87, of Dover, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at his home. He was under the care of Asera Care Hospice for the last year. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Chapel of Anglin Funeral Home, with Rev. Adam Janes officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 27, at Anglin Funeral Home, and until the time of service Tuesday. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday. He was the oldest of six children, born, June 29, 1925 in Stewart County to Marvin Wes Blane and Amy Knight Blane, (Rushing's Creek Area, Land Between the Lakes, Stewart County). Mr. Blane retired following 38 years from TVA Transmission System Engineering and Construction/Civil Engineering and Design Branch, Chattanooga. Following retirement he sold Vicon Farm Equipment while doing commercial farming. He was a Master Mason of Iron Mountain Lodge #544 for 53 years, transferring to Moriah Grove Lodge # 301, Member of A&S Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, and 32nd Degree Shriner of Al Menah Temple in Nashville. On January 1, 2010 he was made a life member of Al Menah Shrine earning this honor by 35 continuous, consecutive years as a dues paying member. He was a member of Stewart County Shrine Club, where he served as president in 1985, paper sale Ambassador 1998 - 2001. He was active in Stewart County Shrine Clowns, a member of Dover First Christian Church, was President of Stewart County Riding Club, for most of 20 years, where he was instrumental in the purchase of the land. He enjoyed taking his two grandchildren, Kala and Ryan on vacations every summer and having them to spend time in his home, and enjoyed the activities of raising horses and showing them as an exhibitor in the Western classes. He was an avid bird hunter. He along with his wife, Robbye, organized the first square dance club known as Dover Squares. Preceding him in death were his youngest son, Chandley Keith Blane, oldest sister, Marcene McGee, Marjorie Stimpson Nelson, and youngest brother Marlin Knight Blane. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Robbye C. Blane, son, Henry Kevin Blane, wife, Colleen, of Murfreesboro, two grandchildren, Kala Rose Blane Robinson, husband, Shawn, Murfreesboro, TN, Ryan Keith Blane, Murfreesboro. great granddaughters, Brooke Leanne Robinson and Kinsley Rose Robinson, great grandson, Isaiah Mathew Robinson, all of Murfreesboro, TN, sisters, Anna Faye Hale (Larry), Dexter, KY, brothers, Max Edward Blane, Murray, KY, brother-in-law, John P. McGee, and many nieces and nephews. His family and friends will serve as pallbearers, Ryan Blane, Shawn Robinson, Randy Blane, Marlin Lynn Blane, Scotty Blane, Phillip Chester, Freddie Page, and Dakota Jake Spiceland. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Moriah Grove Lodge, EMS employees, and Leamon and Judy Lyons.
