Harriett Baker

Mrs. Harriett Baker, age 83, of Buchanan, TN, passed away peacefully at her home on September 6, 2026 with family and friends by her side. She was born on August 17, 1943, in Memphis, TN, to the late Herbert and Emma Bryan Lewis.

Harriett loved the Lord and was a devoted member of United Antioch Methodist Church.

For many years, Harriett enjoyed her work as an Occupational Therapist, dedicating her time, compassion, and expertise to helping others overcome obstacles and become their very best. She had a special way of encouraging those in her care to do just a little more with each visit. She loved her clients, and they loved her.

After retiring from occupational therapy, Harriett enjoyed working as a Realtor, bringing that same expertise, dedication, and love to helping her clients find their forever homes.

After fully retiring, Harriett enjoyed riding around and taking in the beauty of nature, especially the wildlife and beautiful wildflowers along the way, with her dear friend, Billy.

Harriett will forever be remembered by her family and friends for her love, patience, kindness, and steadfast support throughout their everyday walks of life. Her caring spirit and encouragement touched many lives and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Harriett was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Dwayne Baker; brother, Charles "Chuck" Lewis; sister, Ann Spires; and nephews, Gary Spires, David Climer, and Mark Lewis.

Harriett leaves behind her dear neighbor and friend, Billy Ivy; sister, Bettye Smith; nephew, Robert Spires; nieces, Linda Ritchie and Barbara Sox; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In keeping with Harriett's wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at her church at a later date.
