Gladys Virginia Austin, age 71, of Tennessee Ridge, TN, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at her home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Anglin Funeral with Bro. L.C. Hollingsworth to officiate, burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Dover, TN. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and from 12:00 pm until the time of service Tuesday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
She was born November 6, 1943 in Indian Mound, TN, daughter of Charles Franklin and Edna Mae Vincent Barfield. Mrs. Austin was a Baptist and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, David Austin, and brother, Charles Barfield. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Carl Elveritt Austin, daughter, Debra Jones, sons, Lennie Austin, Carl Austin, Jr., James Austin, sister, Retha Gaye Austin, brother, Sherell Wayne Barfield, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
