Eveyln Cherry

Bessie Evelyn Cherry, age 93, Dover, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Manor House of Dover. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday, July 6, at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert McFadden and Rev. Joe Shannon to officiate. Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday and from 9:00 am until the time of service Friday. She was born July 31, 1918 in Stewart County, TN, daughter of Ryman and Minnie Creamer Fox. Mrs. Cherry worked at Ely-Walker. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William Cherry, son, Donnie Cherry, and grandson, Tracy Scalf. Survivors include her children, Wilton Cherry (Mary Anne), Dover, Annie Scalf (Dewey), Murray, KY, Murl Scalf (Andrew), Dover, grandchildren, Karen Bumpus (Brett), Dover, Anthony Cherry (Leann), Dover, Shawn Cherry, Dover, five step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, 13 step great grand children, and three step great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Anthony Cherry, Shawn Cherry, Brett Bumpus, Carson Bumpus, Jared Scalf, William Scalf, Ashley Cherry and Trent Cherry.
