Proverbs 31: 10-31 Give her of the fruits of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Essie Lee Settle, 96, of Dover went home to her eternal life with her Lord on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center surrounded by her cherished family. She was born May 25, 1917 in Stewart County and lived most of her life in the Standing Rock Creek community. She was a daughter of the late Cora E. Andrews and Edgar Benona Sizemore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Walter Frank Settle, her sister, Pearl Cottrell, Elvira Keel, and brother, Carl Sizemore. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am on October 8, 2013 at Fort Donelson Memorial United Methodist Church of which she was a member. Officiating will be Rev. Don Bailey and Dr. Tom Binford. Special music will be provided by "her other son", Roy Poling, minister and Carri Martin. Visitation will be at Anglin Funeral Home on October 7, 2013 from 4-8:00 pm and on October 8, 2013 from 9-10:00 am at the funeral home and from 10-11:00 am at the church. Graveside service and burial will follow the Celebration of Life service at the Taylor's Chapel Cemetery in Dover. Survivors include her sister, Bonnie Crutcher, son, Neil (Nellie) , daughter, Emma Poling(Roy), sons, Cecil (Joy) , William Rhea (Debbie), grandchildren, Pamela Kelly (Herschel), Jimmy (Rona), Carri Martin (Bill), David Poling (Deceased), Dean Poling (Melanie), Robert (Jennifer), Richard (Kim), Elizabeth Pasch (Jason), Jeremy, Brian (Jennifer), Catherine Burkeen (James); great grandchildren, Kristen Hoyt (Jeremy), Caleb Conley, Sarah and Stephen Martin, Court, Jackson and Stewart Settle, Anabel and Henry Settle, Jacob Pasch, Raegan and Aubrey Settle, and Will and Ellie Burkeen; great great grandchild, Olivia Leigh Hoyt (expected in March); also, several dearly loved nieces and nephews, many friends, especially her care takers at the Dover Manor House.
