Elin Thomas

Elin Thomas, age 49, of Indian Mound, TN, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, with her family by her side.

Born on September 12, 1975, Elin was the beloved daughter of the late William and Beverly Ross Thomas. She was a dedicated and hardworking employee of Byard Construction, where she worked as a heavy equipment operator.

Elin had a deep love for the outdoors—fishing, working in the yard, and gardening brought her joy. She especially loved growing tomatoes and could name each variety she nurtured with pride. A passionate concertgoer, Elin enjoyed attending live music events and had the joy of seeing artists like Prince, Harry Styles, and the Backstreet Boys. Halloween was her favorite holiday—she delighted in decorating and seeing others dressed in costume.

Above all, Elin adored her family. Her grandchildren brought her endless joy with their energy and smiles, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Terri Spink and brother-in-law, Troy Morgan.

Elin is survived by her loving children: daughter Raychel Odenthal of Dover; sons Shelby Thomas (Dayton), Cory Thomas (Brianna), Gavin Slobig (Rebekah), all of Dover, and Elijah Thomas (McKenzie) of Indian Mound; stepdaughters Chasity Briley and Emily Pulley, both of Clarksville. She is also survived by her siblings: sisters Stacia Williams (John), Terri Spink, and Erin Morgan, all of Indian Mound; and brother Nick Jateff (Valerie) of Panama City, and brother-in-law, Mark Spink of Granite City.

Her beloved grandchildren include Hayden Thomas, Carter Briley, Jameson Briley, Parker Briley, Gracelynne Pulley, Colton Pulley, Corbitt Thomas, Mabel Slobig, and Landon Thomas.

A visitation will be held at Anglin Funeral Home on Thursday, June 19, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Danny Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Heflin Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Shelby Thomas, Cory Thomas, Elijah Thomas, Gavin Slobig, Nick Jateff, and Raychel Odenthal. Honorary pallbearer will be Hayden Thomas.

Elin’s warmth, strength, and joy for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
