Edna Melton

Edna Mae Melton, age 93, of Dover, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Diversicare of Dover. She was born August 26, 1924 in Stewart County, Tennessee, daughter of the late Thomas and Dessie Elkins Lyons. Mrs. Melton was a member of the Taylor Chapel Church of Christ and was the former co-owner and operator of Uncle Joe’s Gas Station.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dumas Melton, daughter, Barbara Cherry, Brother, Van Lyons, sister, Jewell Greenup, and grandchild, Shawn Cherry.
Survivors include her son, Thomas W. Melton (Kaye), Dover, daughter, Judy Lyons (Leamon), Dover, five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 20th at Anglin Funeral Home with Dale Boren officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Land Between the Lakes. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, March 19th at Anglin Funeral Home and from 12:00 until the time of service on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Trenton Cherry, McCall Gafford, David Norville, Marcus Norville, Brian Grasty, and Thomas Grasty. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Lyons, Anthony Cherry, and John Gafford.
