Dorothy Parker

Dorothy Martin Parker Nashville, TN Age 97, October 27, 2013. Dorothy was born in Stewart County, TN, in 1916. She graduated from Murray State Teachers College in 1942. Married in 1948 to Raymond Dudley Parker, Dorothy taught school in Stewart County until 1952. She was a teacher in Paducah, KY until 1957 before moving to Nashville in 1958 where she continued teaching. She enjoyed teaching, her students still remember her as a caring teacher. Preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Hattie Martin, brother, Robert Dale Martin, sisters, Imogene Jobe, and Leita Gafford. Survived by her husband of 65 years, Raymond Dudley Parker, daughter, Dotty (James) Howington, Nashville, TN, sister, Pattie Macurdy, Gainesville, FL. Visitation will be from 5pm until 7 pm, Tuesday, October 29th. The funeral service will be at 10 am Wednesday, October 30th at Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN, with Rev. Matthew Kelley officiating, burial to follow in the Sexton Cemetery.
