David Perret

Mr. David Paul Perret, age 92 of Big Rock, TN passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN. He was born August 17, 1928 in Los Angeles, CA son of the late Louis Perret and Delia Marcott Perret.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Schick Perret to whom he was married to for 68 wonderful years; daughter, Delia Harp, Big Rock, TN; grandchildren, Jerry Lee Harp (Melissa), Martinsville, VA and Carol Ann Harp, Big Rock, TN; great grandchildren, Coralynn, Cerabeth, and Clayton Mountjoy, David and Anna Harp, Lexy and Serena Fransico.
Chief Petty Officer Perret served our country for 20 years in the US Navy as a photographer. During his navy career he was first assigned as a photographer for the atomic bomb testing sites, he was then assigned to The Pentagon as a staff photographer. Later, he was a Plank owner for the USS Constellation CVA-64. He retired from his navy career in San Diego, CA in 1967. After his retirement, he became a photographer for the city of San Diego, CA.
His favorite sport was golfing, he was good enough to have gone pro, he instead opted to serve his country by joining the Navy. But he liked working with his grandson, Jerry Lee on his golfing skills. He loved fishing, hunting, and watching cowboy western movies. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and enjoyed playing cards with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date.
