David Morgan

David Allen Morgan, Sr., 87, Dover, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN, with Rev. Bruce Cunningham officiating. Burial will be at Atkins Cemetery, Indian Mound, TN. Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Tuesday at Anglin Funeral Home. Pop was born in Dover, TN on June 27, 1924, son of Alec Morgan and Mary Brigham Morgan. He was a member of the Dover Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge located in Dover, TN. In his earlier years, he was drafted during World War II and served as a helicopter mechanic. He retired from Ft. Campbell, KY as a helicopter mechanic in 1989. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife Annabel Ensley Morgan, sisters, Martha Morgan, Ethel Morgan, and brother, Brigham Morgan. Pop leaves behind to cherish his memories: sister, Elizabeth Morgan Hines (Parker) of Alexandria, VA; three devoted and loving children, Mary Morgan Atkins (Steve) of Indian Mound, TN, John Morgan (Sheryl) of Clarksville, TN, and David Allen Morgan, Jr. of Dover, TN; four grandchildren: Steven Atkins, Josh Atkins, Cody Atkins, Jerad Morgan, and many great friends. Pallbearers will be Steven Atkins, Josh Atkins, Cody Atkins, Jerad Morgan, James Clayton Brigham, Charles Brigham, Hubert Luffman, and Steve Bennett.
