Darryl Nelson

Darryl E. Nelson, 71, Tenn. Ridge, TN passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Centennial Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Dover VFW Post #4730, 129 Long Creek Rd., Dover, TN 37058. He was born November 1, 1940 in Grandview, WA son of the late Perry and Hazel Page Nelson. Mr. Nelson was a retired U.S. Army Vietnam and Granada Veteran, retired Corrections Officer, member of the Disabled American Vets, VFW Post #4730 Dover, TN, NRA, Vietnam Counter Parts, Purple Heart Assoc., Military Police Assoc., and a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Unit Citation, Purple Heart, Five Overseas Service Bars, Army Achievement Medal and an Army Commendation Medal 4th Award. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Nelson. Survivors include his sons, Ricky Nelson, FL and Roger Nelson, AR; sister, Judy Scott, WA; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
