Charles Pierce

Charles Bryant Pierce, 71, Dover, TN, went to be with the Lord, Friday, March 5, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Stewart County Memorial Gardens with Brother Dale Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 1:45 pm Sunday at Anglin Funeral Home. Anglin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 16, 1938 son of the late Mack McKenny Pierce and the late Mayven Bryant Pierce. Charlie was one of the first Independent Film Producers, Director, and Writer. His first film, "The Legend of Boggy Creek" broke box office records. His films also included "Winterhawk" and "The Town that Dreaded Sundown", to name just a few. He also coined the phrase, "Go ahead, make my day", from Clint Eastwood's "Sudden Impact". He attended Carlisle Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Beth Pulley Pierce, two daughters and one son, Pamula Pierce Barcelou, New England, Charles Bryant Pierce, Jr., Texarkana, AR, Amanda Pierce Squitiero, Richardson, TX, two step-daughters, Betsy Mathis Gillespie, Melissa Mathis Daley, two brothers, Adean Pierce, Texarkana, AR, and Kenneth Pierce, DeQueen, AR, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Chris Squitiero, Shawn Daley, Chris Gillespie, Bryant Harrison, Thomas Whitlock, Kenny Collins, Danny Austin, and Keith Earhart.
