Charles Briggs

Mr. Charles Vincent Briggs, age 90 of Dover, TN passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Nashville, TN. He was born April 13, 1931 in Aracde, NY, son of the late Charles Velasco and Bernice Mae Kent Briggs Tatum.
Mr. Briggs was a graduate of Olean High School in Olean, NY. He retired from the US Air Force after 22 years of service to his country. He then retired from Fisher Price in Murray, KY and also worked at the Stewart County Sherriff’s Department as a court officer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Amster Briggs, daughter, Barbara Buckey, and his half brother Pete Tatum.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Vesta Beagles, Dover, TN, and Dot Sykes, Dover, TN, grandchildren, Sherri Beagles, Daniel Beagles, Charles Sykes, and Michael Hallisey, and his half sister, Laura Fairchild, Cheektowaga, NY.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Anglin Funeral Home, with Masonic services and military rites at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of memorial gifts, the family request donations be given to Shriners Hospital For Children or the Wofford Cemetery, Dover, TN.
