Mrs. Brenda Darlene Wallace, age 77 of Dover, TN was called home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2021 in Nashville, TN. She was born September 21, 1943 the daughter of the late Lloyd and Melinda Miles. She retired as Director of the United Way. She was a graduate of Stewart County High School. Brenda was a loving and caring person. She continued her education in the medical field. She attended St. Thomas School of Nursing, St. Aquinas College and completing her nursing degree at University Hospital, Knoxville, TN main Campus with special classes in Administering Disaster Relief, Administration and Budgets and Service to Veterans and their affairs. She worked at various hospitals during her nursing career serving as charge nurse in emergency room, critical care, private duty and children’s care. She was honored with the Outstanding Young Women of America in 1979, PTA life membership and TOS 1967 to present. She was very active in community services volunteering in Nursing homes, served on the board of directors in Carter County Red Cross, instructor in first aid and CPR primarily in high school, charter member of Hunter Booster Club, served in PTA administrative positions for several years in various counties. After retirement, she started art classes and painted. She was an accomplished artist, selling many signed prints. She loved working in her flower gardens and spending time with her cherished family. She was a faithful servant, a member of Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Gary O. Wallace, precious children, son; Ben Wallace (Katherine), daughter; Autumn Page (Tim), cherished grandchildren; Emmaline Page, Brigham Page and Kayla Howell, sisters; Jennifer Wyatt, Indian Mound, TN, Sherry Kingins, Clarksville, TN, and Terisa Nelson (James), Dover, TN.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:00 am and continue until the funeral service at 11:00 am at Anglin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers are Brigham Page, Don Wallace, Tim Page, Anthony Myers, Justin Smothers and Deryk Wyatt. Honorary pallbearers are James Nelson, Lawrence Saunders, Peyton Landon, Robert Pierce, and Bryan Saunders.
