Edward Brandon ‘Doc’ Watson, age 79 of Woodlawn, TN, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at his home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Monday at Anglin Funeral Home with Bro. Duane James and Bro. Garrette Milliken officiating. Burial will be at the Wilee’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday at Anglin Funeral Home and from 12:00 until the time of service on Monday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
He was born May 25, 1936 in Woodlawn, TN, son of the late Noah and Willie B. Darnell Watson. Mr. Watson served in the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Oakwood Freewill Baptist Church, and was a Mason. In 1961 Mr. Watson began his career as a barber and continued cutting hair until present day. He was also a Star Route Mail Carrier from 1973 to 2001, transporting the mail from Clarksville to Dover.
Mr. Watson is survived by his beloved wife, Symanthy Watson, Woodlawn, TN, sons, Mark Watson, Nashville, TN, Marty Watson (Lisa), Woodlawn, TN, grandchildren, Lindsay Overson, Marti Newkirk, Brannan, Cameron, Dylan, Reid, and Eva Watson, great grandchildren, Makayla Overson, Leighton Overson, and Addison Newkirk. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
