Billy Ray Harris, 78, Granite City, IL passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at his residence. Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Harris Cemetery, Stewart, TN. Burial will follow in the Harris Cemetery.
He was born September 19, 1935 in Dover, TN son of the late James Washington Harris and Lydia Pearl Settle Harris. Mr. Harris was retired from General Motors Fleetwood plant, Detroit, MI and a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his sons, Jeffrey Ray Harris, Allen Park, MI and James Young Harris (Sophia), West Bloomfield, MI; mother of his sons, Barbara Jane Harris, Taylor, MI; sister, Helen Crosier, Atlanta, GA; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Harris; niece, Linda French (Robert) and many other nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
