Billy Atkins

Billy Dean Atkins, 66 of Dover, TN passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at his residence after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Revs. Tommy Clendenen and Robert Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow at the Hall Cemetery, Indian Mound, TN. Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 5-8 pm and on Friday, October 14, 2011 from 10:00 am until the hour of service. Masonic services will be on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home. He was born April 27, 1945 in Dover, TN son of the late Vernon and Rubye Sexton Atkins. He was a member of The First Chrisian Church and Moriah Grove Lodge #301. Mr. Atkins was retired from Conti Carriers Towboat and worked for the Stewart Co. Highway Department. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Bogard. Survivors include his wife, Pat Atkins; daughter, Tammy Carter and husband, Chris of Texas; sons, Kevin Atkins, Dover, William Atkins and wife, Donna of Dover, Robert Hargrove and wife, Sandy of Dover, Kevin Largent and wife, Stephanie of Murray, KY; brother, Dalton Atkins, Dover; sisters, Gertrude Riggins and husband, Ravon of Dover, Barbara Beasley and husband, Jerry of Springville; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Michael Morgan, Lucas Coburn, Joey Brake, Paul Hester, Greg Greenhill and David Colter. Honorary pallbearers will be the Stewart Co. Highway Dept. and the Moriah Grove Masonic Lodge.
