Bill Compton, 73, Dover, TN passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 at Gateway Medical Center, Clarksville, TN. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:00am at Anglin Funeral Home with Dean Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Stewart Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will Sunday, June 19 from 5-8 pm and Monday, June 20 from 10-11 am at Anglin Funeral Home. He was born March 30, 1938 in Stewart Co., TN son of the late Jack S. and Mary Perry Compton. Mr. Compton was a retired U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and retired school bus driver with the Stewart Co. Board of Education. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Don Compton and a sister, Betty Ann Compton. Survivors include his wife, Sara Pepper Compton, Dover; sons, Michael Compton, Big Rock, Billy Joe Compton, Indian Mound, and Tommy Compton, Dover; daughter, Lisa Boyd, Dover; brothers, Charles Compton, Dover, Doug Compton, Lugoff, SC, James Compton, Dover, and Larry Compton, Nashville; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Family and friends will be pallbearers.
