Betty Wallace

Betty Joe Wallace of Big Rock, TN passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. David Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor's Chapel Cemetery, Big Rock, TN. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 4-8:00 pm and on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 10:00 am until the hour of service at Anglin Funeral Home.
She was born in Stewart Co., TN daughter of the late Roy and Rees Heflin Wallace. Mrs. Wallace was a retired professor of History at Austin Peay State University in 2008. She was a graduate of Stewart Co. High School and Austin Peay State University with a BS degree in History and English and a master's degree in Education and History, a master's degree in history from Vanderbilt University and completed her coursework at Vanderbilt University for her PHD in History. She also attended the Big Rock Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Brooksie Marshall and nephews, Wally Marshall and Johnnie Marshall. Survivors include her husband, John Chapman, Big Rock, TN, nieces, Dana Wallace (Wayne), Cortney Parks (Billy), Pam Rouse (Steve) and nephews, Justin Marshall (Larissa) and Nathan Wallace(Brittany). Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
