Betty T. Boren, 84, of Dover, TN, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at her home. She was born on October 30, 1941, in Trigg County, KY, to the late Huda Franklin Turner and Bessie Griffin Turner. She grew up in Cadiz, KY, and graduated from Trigg County High School in 1959. She graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree pursuing a career in education. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James Boren (they were married 60 years), sister Carolyn Turner, and brother-in-law Joe Steele. 

After graduating Murray State she started her teaching career at Somerset, KY, teaching high school business. Then she taught at Bumpus Mills, Cumberland City, North Stewart, and Dover Elementary. After retiring, she returned back to the classroom as the ALC and Adult High School teacher. She taught 44 years teaching third grade through high school. 

She is survived by two daughters, Melody Boren and Wendy Watson (Terry), two granddaughters, Melina Watson and Makayla Curtis (Justin), sister Evelyn Steele, brother-in-law Dale Boren, and several nieces and nephews. 

Betty was a devoted Christian and was a faithful member of Stewart Church of Christ. 

Glen Glenn will be officiating the graveside service at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Stewart County Memorial Garden in Dover, TN, at noon.
