Barbara Compton

Barbara Compton, age 73 of Clarksville, TN passed away May 11, 2023 at Tennova Healthcare Hospital. She was born in Clarksville, TN on April 14, 1950 the beloved daughter of the late Allen Wright and Helen Simmons. Barbara retired from the Stewart County School System as an Educational Assistant. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a true friend to many.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Don Compton; brothers; Bruce Wright and Gene Wright.

She is survived by her daughters; Anne Hackney (Walter) of Clarksville, TN, Deanna Graham (Brennan) of Indian Mound, TN, brother; Dwayne Simmons of Woodlawn, TN, sister; Kathy Dennis (Bobby) of Big Rock, TN, grandchildren; Andrea Alleman, Tyler Hackney, Issac Ross and Colton Ross, great-grandchildren; Alyssa Pittman, Leighann Alleman and Johnny Hackney.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Anglin Funeral Home and will continue on Tuesday, from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Anglin Funeral Home with Brian Grasty officiating and burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
