To the family, my sincere condolences for your loss. Please find comfort in the knowledge that God promises to end all suffering. Before long, God will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and “death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things (will) have passed away.”(Rev. 21:3,4). May this promise from God give you comfort now and a real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.

I first met Sandy at the old Dyers Creek Church on the Bumpus Mills Rd. My girls became friends with her children. They were in Sunday School and Wednesday night classes together and her and I were always involved in the children’s activities and Bible schools.
One afternoon she showed up at my house with a very nice gift, a beautiful hope chest that she had Donnie make. It was exquisite. She said she wanted to give me something to show how much I meant to her. I felt so unworthy of such a gift but she assured me of my worth and I graciously accepted. It is one of my absolute favorite pieces because of the giver. Sandy was a giver, she always made me feel so special.
Recently, I ran into Sandy at a music event. Her grandson was performing with a group. We had the best time talking about our children and reminiscing about the good ole days. We even planned to go to Colorado together to visit Josh. Those plans didn’t play out. God had better plans for Sandy.
Much love and prayers to all of her precious family. You know that you were loved.

Lourine, I love your story about the hope chest. Thank you for telling it. She always thought a whole lot of you. She admired your lively, unabashed spirit.
