Obituary for Joy Lynne Atwater (Ferguerson)
Mrs. Joy Lynne Atwater, age 76 of Bumpus Mills, TN, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at her home. She was born August 14, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Earl Wayne Ferguerson and Gloria Ellen Brankey Ferguerson.
Mrs. Atwater worked for Ashton-Tate and retired from HBO, Los Angeles, CA. After retirement, she moved from California to Bumpus Mills where she resided since 2000. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Dover where she served her community by volunteering with the food pantry. Joy had many hobbies, including her collecting beanie babies and purses. She loved Daniele Steel novels, crosswords, and Starbucks. Her favorite show was M*A*S*H and her pugs were her life. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be greatly missed.
Joy leaves behind her beloved husband, Timothy D. Atwater; children, David Johnson, April Wiley, Gary Lyons, Jennifer Lyons, Cherie Leroy, Deborah Lancaster, Dawn Badger, Debbie Parkhurst (deceased), Darlene Crain, and Jimmy Barton; sister, Carol Jones; 32 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 5:00 pm on Wednesday at Anglin Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 25 with Rev. Karyn Bogert officiating. Burial will be Monday, November 30, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, KY.
