Obituary

Mr. Jerry Norman Bauer, age 77 of Big Rock, TN, passed away, Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Diversicare of Dover. He was born January 30, 1943 in Indiana, son of the late Elmer John and Anna Marie Hembree Bauer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Bauer and Kenneth Bauer, as well as an infant brother and sister.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Patricia Jean Barber Bauer, loving children, Jeffrey Bauer, TN, Carol Townsend, Greenbrier, TN, Deanna Bauer, Big Rock, TN, and Jera Coburn, Dover, TN, grandchildren, Jake (Megan), Josh, and Justin Townsend, and Holden Coburn; great grandson, Levi Townsend, and expected great granddaughter, Abigale Townsend.

Visitation will be from 3:30 - 6:00 pm on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Monday, October 19, 2020 at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home, 3221 N. Newton Street Jasper, IN with Pastor Jake Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Dubois, IN. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Family and friends of Mr. Bauer will be serving as pallbearers.

The family kindly requests that you wear a face mask and practice social distancing while attending the services.

OUR CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY OF MR. JERRY!! I FIRST MET MR. JERRY WHEN HE OWNED LEATHERWOOD RESORT AND HE COULD COOK !! MY FAVORITE THING HE MADE WAS AN OMELETTE CALLED THE JERRY SPECIAL WHICH WAS VERY SATISFYING! JERRY EVENTUALLY SOLD THE PLACE AND PURCHASED BROWNFIELD RESORT/ P.J.'s !! HE WAS A HARD WORKER AND TURNED THAT RESORT INTO THE MOST HAPPENING AND HOPPING RESORTS ON THE TN. RIVER/ KY. LAKE WHERE WE HAD OUR FIRST CAMPER LOCATED!! I'D LIKE TO SAY THAT FOR OVER A DECADE MY WIFE AND MYSELF ENJOYED THE VERY BEST MEMORIES OF OUR LIFE BOATING , FISHING,ETC. TOGETHER AT P.J.'s THANKS TO MR. JERRY AND HIS FAMILY !!! MR. JERRY WILL BE MISSED BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!! SINCERELY,.
