Obituary for James F Ryan

James F. Ryan, age 89 of Dover TN and formerly of Cleveland, OH passed away quietly and went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2020. James was born James Frank Ryan on November 18. 1930. He was a faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Paris, TN. He was the beloved husband of Rebecca (nee Oiler) for 32 years. He retired in 1992 from The Ohio Bell Telephone Company with service of 36 years.

James was a member of the American Legion in Dover, TN., Post #72. He proudly served in the Navy during the Korean conflict on a Navel Carrier with the VF54 fighter group. He served his tour of duty on the USS Essex and the USS Valley Forge. James was honorably discharged on August 2, 1954.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mildred Ryan (nee Stringer), his first wife Ruth Ryan (nee Molnar); son Kenneth Ryan; sister, Rose Lakner, and bother in law, Tom Havens. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his children, Paul (Sue), Michael (Debra), Daniel, Barbara (Scott) Sees, Kathleen (James) Gib, and step-daughter; Melissa (James) McElhone. James was a grandfather of 20 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Havens, Alice Owens (Jack), brother; William (Donna) Ryan, brother in law; John Lakner and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273
