Obituary for James Joseph Hadley

James Joseph Hadley, (Jim) as he was known to family and friends, also known as “Jackass” by his very best friends; passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. He was 64 years of age. He had a lifelong battle with diabetes and it ultimately led to complications which he just could not overcome anymore. He fought hard for 40 years as a diabetic.

Jim was born September 28, 1957 in Aurora, Illinois. He was the first-born son of Elizabeth and Harold Hadley. He was 1 of 8 siblings. He was a hardworking and stubborn man, that you could always depend on.

He loved four wheeling and building heavy equipment models. He was always outside. The summers were spent in the backyard surrounded by kids, family and friends. The winters were spent throwing the kids around in the snow on four wheelers.

His later years included a lot of trips to Walmart with his granddaughters, his "sweeties". He was incapable of telling them no. He loved afternoon naps on the couch and tossing bean bags with friends. He spent a lot of time at the KOA. It was his home away from home. A lot of amazing friends and memories were made there.

In his last months he was surrounded with family and friends coming to visit. He had Jeanie by his side as his companion/caregiver until the very end. He is loved and will be incredibly missed by so many.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Hadley, his mother Elizabeth Hadley, his sister Karen Hadley. He is survived by his life companion/caregiver, Jean Butler, his children Elyse Reagan (Wilson), Joseph Hadley and Sarah ‘Sue’ Hadley, his granddaughter’s Adliena and Sofia Bonilla, and Charlotte Reagan; his siblings Mary Ducharme (Tom), Bett Canning (Terry), Cathy Christensen (Michael), Tom Hadley (Kelly), Janet Hernandez (Angel) and Bill Hadley (Denise), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a Celebration of Life that will be held later this Spring, where we encourage family and friends to come and share their memories.

Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN and online condolences may be made at anglinfuneralhome.com.
