James Clayton  Brigham
James Clayton Brigham passed away on January 28, 2019, at the age of 87. He was born on April 11, 1931, to the late James Andrew and Madye Lynn Riggins Brigham. He and his nephew, Andy Brigham, own the family farm on Long Creek Road. He had retired from the Dover Peoples Bank, which later became Regions Bank of Dover. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kay Groves Brigham. They have two daughters, Renata (Mark) Wallace of Clarksville, TN, and Sherri (Robert) Schmerda of Franklin, TN. They have three grandchildren, Kayla (JB) Gilbert, Casey Schmerda and Meredith Schmerda, and one great-grandchild, Austin Gilbert.
James was an active member of Fort Donelson Memorial United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men’s Group. He was a member of the American Legion Post #72 for 49 years, having served in the Air Force, Korean War Era. He has been an active member of the Dover Kiwanis Club with 58 years of perfect attendance. There will be a funeral service held at Anglin Funeral Home on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Dr. Robert Webster and Rev. George Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service on Thursday, January 31st. Pallbearers will be Andy Brigham, Andrew Brigham, Charles Brigham, Steve Fielder, Pat Fielder, Jonathan Fielder, Billy Joe Crutcher and Bryan Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Methodist Men’s Group and Dover Kiwanis Club. Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home.
