Obituary for Herman Anglin

Mr. Herman Anglin, age 95, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 20, 2022. He was born on Monday, January 17, 1927 in Dover, TN, son of John Richard and Rose Ella Rushing Anglin.

Herman was a loving and devoted husband, father, Pepaw, and brother. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and took pride in the fact that he was still mowing his own yard at the age of 94.

Mr. Anglin was the original owner of Anglin Funeral Home. He respectfully and selflessly served the residents of Stewart County and surrounding areas for over 54 years. He began working at Milligan and Ridgeway Funeral Home in 1951, and in 1970 he purchased the business. He retired in the mid 2000’s, leaving his legacy to the following generations.

Most importantly, Herman was a man of God, who had a tremendous influence on his family. He was an active member of Dover First Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a board member and church treasurer for many years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margie Link Anglin, son, Mark Link Anglin, and siblings, Lillie Mae Hogland, Nettie Boyd, Myrtle Hamm, Grady Anglin, Lela Bell Richardson, Maudell Selph, and John Freeman Anglin.

Left to cherish his memory, are his loving wife of 13 years, Edith Anglin; son, Wayne (Hope) Anglin; daughter-in-law, Lisa Anglin; sisters, Birdie Stockman and Dorothy Crockarell; grandchildren, Jonathan (Laurisa) Anglin, Amanda (Justin) Zellers, Amy (Sean) Teixeira, Landon (Miranda Parker) Anglin, Jaden (Jaylynn) Anglin, great-grandchildren, Luke Hicks, Anna Anglin, Ellie Zellers, and Zachary Zellers.

Visitation for Mr. Anglin will be from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Anglin Funeral Home and will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 -11:00 am. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Anglin Funeral Home with Bro. James Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Anglin, Landon Anglin, Jaden Anglin, Amanda Zellers, Amy Teixeira, Justin Zellers, Sean Teixeira, and Luke Hicks.
