MY fond memories of the Hindman Family are at the Granite City, IL Church of God in the late 1950's and early 1960's when my parents, B.W. and Delores Garrett pastored a church on their District. We were a large, close group of churches, with active fellowship meetings and youth rallies between church. Henry and Georgia Hindman and their family were active in youth and music ministry at Granite City. Our church was too, and we loved to share fellowship activities and especially music ministries.

J.T., of course, knew them too because the church he grew up in was on the same district. Sometimes he went over to Granite City to play his bass and help Georgia with the youth choir when he was not out evangelizing.

My Dad passed away in August 1964 and my mother in May 1965. We had to move from our pastorate, and I lost track of the Hindmans. My husband I got married in 1969 and ministered in youth and music at the Bethalto, IL Church of God. We caught up with the Hindmans and the Bakers through the years of our own pastorates in Illinois beginning in 1982.

My husband J.T. Kelly passed away September 12, 2018. Both he and I loved Henry and Georgia Hindman. I send my sympathy to Henry. Also to David and Jacque and their family; also to Rob and Donna and their family; also to the extended family. May the Comfort of the Holy Spirit surround you and Comfort you now and in the days ahead. I love you all.

Georgia was a dear friend who I looked up to as a teenager when she was the youth leader and directed our youth choir in Granite City, IL. In my life, she is one of those who had a tremendous influence on my life. Barbara (Lott) Lane

Aunt Georgia was a wonderful Christian, giving selflessly of her musical talents and providing support and encouragement to others. She was kind to share her heart and home on the summer visits our family would make each year to visit Grandma Enyart. I pray Uncle Hank and all the family find comfort knowing she is with the many loved ones gone before her, and especially that she is rejoicing with our Savior. She leaves a strong legacy in her children and grands and I know her earthly presence will greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. Sending my love and deepest condolences.
