Mr. Gary Dean Jones, age 80 of Big Rock, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019 at his home. He was born November 19, 1938 in Oak Ridge, Missouri, son of the late John Lilburn and Edna Mayfield Jones.
Mr. Jones served in the US Army from 1955 – 1958, the Marie Corp Reserves, and he retired from the Tennessee Army National Guard. He worked at the Tennessee Corp of Engineers and was a former Postal Service Employee.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Jones. Survivors include his beloved wife, Bebe Jones, Big Rock, son, James Blythe, Nashville, daughter, Tracy Jennings (Dan), Big Rock, granddaughter, Cortney Shemwell (Josh), great grandchildren, Sophie and Mason Shemwell, brothers, Neal Jones, Mike Jones, David Jones, and sisters, Linda Foster, Kay McGurk, and Sue Golden.
The funeral service will be Sunday, June 30, at 2:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. David Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in the Stewart County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 pm on Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Jennings, Luis Davila, James Gaston, Jr., Josh Shemwell, James Blythe, and Mike Jones.
