Obituary for Dora B Joiner (Taylor)
Mrs. Dora Joiner, age 86 of Big Rock, TN passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at Diversicare Nursing Home, Dover, TN. She was born October 22, 1933 in Big Rock, TN daughter of the late Robert Taylor and Bessie (Taylor) Hancock.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Buck” Joiner; brothers, Edward Taylor and James Allen Taylor.
She is survived by her beloved children, Rick Joiner (Marcia), Joey Joiner (Leta) of Big Rock, TN and Bobby Joiner (Sabrina) of Dover, TN; grandchildren, Collin Joiner, Carolyn Joiner and Kyle Humphrey, sister in law, Virginia (Thomason) Joiner, Dover, TN; cousin, Floyd Phillips (Myrna) Dover, TN; several nieces and nephews.
She was a true and devoted Christian lady. A loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and others that she welcomed into her home or who she became friends with throughout her life. In life she worked at Ely & Walker Company, the cafeteria at North Stewart Elementary School and ran her own business. She was a member of Big Rock Baptist Church and the order of the Eastern Star Iron Mountain # 412.
She will be honored by celebrating her life and birthday with her family and friends at a graveside service to be held at Smith Cemetery, Big Rock, TN, Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. William Gray officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Smith Cemetery memorial fund or Big Rock Baptist Church building fund.
