Obituary for Wilton "Jerry" Yarbrough

Mr. Wilton Green 'Jerry' Yarbrough, age 93, of Big Rock, Tennessee, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at White House Healthcare, White House, Tennessee. He was born September 16, 1924 in Stewart County, TN, son of the late Arnold Yarbrough, Sr. and Miranda Joiner Yarbrough. Mr. Yarbrough served in the US Army and was a WWII Veteran. He worked at Trane Company and was a member of Big Rock Baptist Church. His life was an example of faithfulness. From the battlefields of Western Europe, to family life, to the way he cared for his wife during her final years, his life was a story of faithfulness to God, family, and country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Miranda Yarbrough, his beloved wife, Annie Cordelia Mathis Yarbrough, brothers, Elmer Yarbrough, Arnold Yarbrough, Jr., sisters, Frances Smith, and Hazel Dye.
Survivors include his daughters, Cheryll Kirkpatrick (Gene), Portland, TN, and Linda Patrick (John), Claremore, OK, grandchildren, Chad Ezell (Alisha), Thomas Patrick, Matthew Patrick, Brian Kirkpatrick (Julia), Craig Kirkpatrick (Jacquie) and great grandchildren, Aubery Ezell, Eli Kirkpatrick, Mia Kirkpatrick, and Paloma Kirkpatrick.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. David Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm Monday at Anglin Funeral Home. His family will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of other memorials, donations may be made to the Big Rock Baptist Church Building Fund, 258 Big Rock Road, Big Rock, TN 37023.
